Mark Darling – Story 23

I was asked to come on a regular basis and help the Darling family when Mark’s daughter, Jessica, was sick. During that terrible trial, I saw a family that loved each other deeply and were unwavering in their faith despite their horrible circumstances. Mark’s devotion to his daughter, his wife, his family, and his church was unlike anything I had ever experienced. He laid down his life for them and for us on a daily basis. He somehow found the strength to continue to encourage everyone around him, even when he himself was dealing with so much discouragement. The Lord used that time in the Darling’s home to both test and strengthen my own faith. I saw what true devotion to both God and family looked like first-hand and was forever changed for the better. I am incredibly thankful for Mark, for the Darling family, and for my church, The Rock, for being a never-ending source of love and encouragement to me, my husband, and my children.
