Mark Darling – Story 35

Mark is an incredibly thoughtful and generous person. I have been blessed to both witness and receive this kind generosity a number of times, but there is one time that sticks out greatly in my mind. Several years ago, my husband was starting a new business with a friend. We had a few months of savings set aside to carry us for a little bit, but it was taking time to get the business up and running. We were quickly approaching a time where things were going to become difficult. One night at church, Mark came up to me and handed me an envelope addressed to me and my husband. Inside of it was a check for $500! We never asked for anything, but in Mark’s incredibly caring and generous spirit he chose to gift us so much. It wasn’t just the money, but also his desire to do everything he could to show care and concern for us. I am still stunned to this day when I think about Mark’s incredible generosity. Not because it was out of character because it wasn’t. I have always known Mark to be kind, thoughtful, and giving to the Nth degree. However, I was still so blessed by his gift and more so by his deep care for our family. I still am.
