Mark Darling – Story 78

I first heard Pastor Mark Darling in the late 1980s. I am from South Dakota and was visiting a friend in Minneapolis who took me to his church. I had never heard such conviction and passion in preaching as Pastor Mark. I looked forward to our trips to Minneapolis to hear Pastor Mark teach and preach. Since I lived 250 miles away, I began to get Pastor Mark’s tape-recorded messages. I listened to them often. His messages on marriage and parenting shaped me as a husband and father of five children. One day Pastor Mark shared a life-changing message on love and forgiveness. God’s timing for this message was perfect as my wife’s parents did not want me to marry her because they were Catholic and I was not. Pastor Mark’s message helped me to love and forgive them even though they treated me poorly. Over the years they accepted me and God opened the door to share the Gospel with them. My mother-in-law accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior a few days before she passed away. It all started with Pastor Mark’s message thirty years earlier.  I met Pastor Mark in person for the first time in February 2018. I was asked by a friend if I could provide Pastor Mark legal advice as he faced the recent investigation of the claims against him. I have been amazed as I witnessed Pastor Mark silently trust God through it, and not once have I heard him slander or say anything hateful toward anyone in the process. He is a true genuine follower of Jesus Christ. Pastor Mark Darling practices what he preaches.
