Mark Darling – Story 114

Thank you for speaking into my life the past two decades! The HSLT when I was 15, the year you spoke on the 10 Commitments, was a very pivotal point in my walk with the Lord. You cast a vision for the Christian life at that conference that challenged me and forever changed my approach to loving and forgiving others; living as a servant; prayer, time in the word and other spiritual disciplines, commitment to the believers in my church family…honestly that conference changed the way I even walk into a room. Really just so many things I grew up learning and walking in were solidified at that by the things you spoke into us and became my own, it was when I really burned bridges with the world and its paradigm and there was no going back. Your passion, example, and messages throughout the years since have continued to shape me and point me in the Truth of what God’s plan is for His children. Perhaps somewhat amusingly, when I first met Brian at the street ministry in Eau Claire I thought “I gotta see what this guy’s made of” and one of the first things I gave him was some of your messages because I knew his response to them would be very telling of where his heart was at in following Jesus for the long haul and whether he was the man I would want to marry. He was, of course:) !! He soaked it up, and we’ve been listening to Strong Disciple messages together while the programs and I experiment with new recipes ever since which played a big role in God putting it on our hearts to move here to the Twin Cities last year.  Anyway, we are so thankful to be with you in the battle and following you and our other leaders here at the Rock and also to have the things God has impressed on you as a resource we pass along to others. We smile at the future as we lift Jesus high with you.
