Mark Darling – Story 140

What does The Rock mean to me? It means hearing the Gospel, becoming a believer, learning to walk with the Lord as a baby. I feel very fortunate to have stumbled upon this church as a foolish 18-year-old. 15 years later and the Lord continues to do new things in my life through my church. Mark has specifically been an example to me of “making space” for people. Jesus’ life was marked by making space for people, all people, and this is hard for me to do. Interruptions are my bane. But they weren’t for the Lord and they’re not for Mark. I always know I can come to Mark at any time and he will make space for me with his time and words and prayer and encouragement, as Jesus would do (as Jesus DOES). This is no small thing. I am very fortunate and very thankful for this example and I pray the Lord grows me in making space too as the grace of this good gift surrounds me.
