Mark Darling – Story 136

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the members of the Rock. I feel extremely lucky and blessed to be part of a church that cares so much about what people go through in their lives, at whatever stage in life they are in. As a single adult, there are few places that offer the opportunity to share my beliefs and values in a genuinely supportive and nonjudgmental group of other singles. I started going to the Rock in 2014 and it’s been an ongoing process of growth ever since. Forming meaningful relationships is something that I’ve always had a hard time with, and there were many Rockers who made it easy for me by being welcoming and approachable. I’m very thankful to know that I don’t struggle alone with issues that a typical single guy goes through in a society that promotes over-stimulation and self-indulgence. Without the Friday night service and support from the members of my small group and house church, I would probably be in a much different place today. I also want to thank you for all of the support and guidance you give to married couples and families. I’m not married myself but maybe one day I will be able to use the huge amount of material you provide for marriage and raising a family. It gives me hope that I can overcome the issues I have as an adult that came from growing up in a single parent family.
