Mark Darling – Story 68

Mark Darling is one of the dearest men I have ever known. My husband and my father are the two men I admire most, and Mark is next in line. I say this having not had much contact with him in about six years. He made that much of an impact on my life. I was raised in a church. I am very familiar with men of God. I also rebelled throughout much of my teen years and into my early twenties. I am very familiar with men who don’t love God. Some of them, including an assistant pastor, claimed to be and weren’t. I could spot them a mile away. My past experiences include men who took advantage of me sexually, rape, attempted “grooming”, vile comments and actions from co-workers, a boss, a female doctor, a neighbor, an abusive boyfriend, and strangers. Frankly, who hasn’t (sadly) in the world we live in, experienced this in some form. Most women and even men have suffered far worse. That’s beside the point. My point is I am well versed in what a pervert is. I could go on and on….Mark Darling is the opposite of the men I have described. He encouraged me to value myself. I made better decisions about who I dated or even placed myself in situations with. He is part of the reason my husband and I have a successful marriage that is not based on sex. Mark has devoted his life to helping others, male and female alike. I can list many male friends who received advice and guidance from him. Talk to Mark for 10 minutes and you will see how genuine he is. Anyone who takes the time to meet with him will know a humble, self sacrificial, caring, God fearing, wonderful man. I have never EVER gotten any signal of anything but respect and friendship from Mark. There was never anything inappropriate about him.
